OPEN SOURCE GEOSPATIAL - INDIAThe India Chapter of The Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo-India) was launched in Jan 2007 as a Not-for-profit Society with a pan India focus. The goal of the Society is to provide support and help in building up of open source tools and applications related to the field of geospatial technologies and its allied sciences. One of its primary aims is to develop a community of both the users of such products and the developers who can contribute in developing high quality open source software. GAMP-2010 at Yogi Vemana UniversityNational Seminar on I attended this seminar on the 5th representing OSGeo-India to promote open source GIS in geologists. The Delegates are mostly geologists and students of geology from various places in India. The papers presented were on proterozoic era's mineral deposits.
