1. Modelling of LULC Dynamics in Yamuna and Godavari River Basins, related to ISRO-GBP project on LULC dynamics and Impact of Human dimensions in Indian River Basins. Main PI. Funded by Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, ISRO for 2012-2015.
2. Development of Biodiversity Spatial Data Infrastructure for Western Ghats, India. Co-PI, joint research with OSGeo-India. Funded by Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India. 2012-2013 (Sanctioned but not started)
3. Documenting Disappearing Water Bodies of Hyderabad City - Socio-technological options for drinking water supply. Co-PI with SaciWATERs, SOUL and NIAS Bangalore. Funded by Dept of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. 2012-13.
4. Agent based modeling of land-use/ land-cover changes in Barak basin - North Eastern India. Main PI. Funded by North East Space Applications Centre, Dept. of Space. 2012-13.
5. GIS Study of the Watershed of Shamirpet lake in Peri-urban area of Hyderabad. A preliminary analysis for South Asia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies (SaciWATERs, UNDP) to assess water security in peri-urban areas. May 2011-Aug 2011. Preliminary research work.
6. Second National Communication (NATCOM) on inventory of Green House Gases - National Land use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF) assessment using satellite data. PI for 3 states in India. Funded by National Remote Sensing Centre, ISRO for 2009-2011.
7. ENVIS Common Service Platform - a prototype system. This was developed to improve the data and knowledge sharing of ENVIS centres, in consultation with the Min. of Environment and Forestry, Govt. of India. 2008-2009. (internal funds)
8. Agricultural Land Use in East and South Asia - Rapidly Changing Landscapes and its Impacts on Regional Food Security. Main PI of the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change (APN) funded project for 2005-07 involving India, Japan and China.
9. DREAMAR: Decision-Making Under Uncertainty: Household Resilience and Change. Decision-making in Rangeland systems: an integrated Ecosystem-Agent-based Modeling Approach. Collaborator of this NSF(USA) funded Project lead by NREL, Colorado State University for 2005-08

Development of an Open Source Collaborative Mapping Platform - VRGeo.in - an in-house technology development project for creation and collation of Voluntarily contributed Geospatial data within India. Technology developed at Lab for Spatial Informatics and Deployed on Megha:Cloud computing platform on GARUDA of CDAC (DeITy, Govt. of India) Bangalore. 2011 onwards.
11. LSIViewer: Libre Spatial Information Viewer for Geospatial data (http://lsi.iit.ac.in/lsiviewer) - a hosted free web service. Also released Source code on github.com under Apache License 2.0 in Oct 2012.
